Here we present the application of “golden ratio” representation and calculation of body proportions, Leonardo as we proposed in their study of anatomy. A few simple rules can help us to make drawings with actual proportions.

Leonardo da Vinci (Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci) it was a Florentine painter and polymath born in Vinci 15 April 1452 and died in Amboise 2 May 1519, to 67 years old, accompanied by his faithful Francesco Melzi, who bequeathed his projects, designs and paintings. After spending his childhood in his hometown, Leonardo studied with the renowned Florentine painter Andrea Verrocchio. His first important works were created in Milan in the service of Duke Ludovico Sforza. Then worked in Rome, Bologna and Venice, and spent the last years of his life in France, at the invitation of King Francis I.(W)

How to draw the human body is through the proportions considered suitable.

First, must take into account the major differences between the male and female figure:

1. The breast is lower in women than in men.
2. The rib cage (waist) is larger in men than in women.
3. Women's hips are wider.
4. The upper and lower limbs are thinner in women, which also characterizes femininity.

Once you know the main features and differences between men and women is when you can begin creating characters.

Usually when drawing the human body will use the head as far as reference for the rest of the body.

The total height of the body is eight heads and three quarters. Mark the divisions help to draw the rest of the body details.

The front of the back will have three heads and go from one line to the height of the shoulders to the pubic arch.

Length neck equivalent upright between a quarter and half a head.

The arm, two heads and three quarters from where it articulated in the shoulder to the hand joint. Also, the navel line coincides almost exactly with the elbow.

The hand measured, then, three quarters of head.

The leg length will have four heads and go from the height of the joint of the hand to the foot joint. The midline of these four divisions coincide with the knee. The walk will be about a quarter of head.

Finally, hand, as we saw, measuring three quarters of head, equivalence to the distance between the chin and hairline.

As to the rear of the torso (back), the measure is three heads and a half long, starting from a line at shoulder height, to below the buttocks.
