The animation with sand or “art with sand” (Sand Art) is a technique to create images on a backlit translucent surface, which is covered with sand.
The artist moves the sand, using fingers as brushes, so that light passes through the surface and comprises the images.
The technique builds the narrative sequence in the order in which the elements of the scene are drawn, applying slight changes in the drawing to indicate movement or significant differences flat film (from general and panoramic to close-ups) rapidly, producing the continuity of the sequence.
One of the most recognized talents is Kseniya Simonova, whose works have been awarded in different countries.
Kseniya Simonova (born 22 April of year 1985 Kseniya Simonova como) is a sand animation artist in Ukraine. He began drawing in sand after the collapse of his business as a result of the credit crisis and less than a year later participated in the competition Ukraine's Got Talent. Was the winner of the contest 2009, building an animation about life in the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War against the Third Reich in World War II.(in)
