Another “shaders” incorporating “Cycles” one Blender es “Glass”. Simulate glass and crystals, and other transparent surfaces,

The crystal is a medium that allows the passage of light (translucent) modifying its trajectory. It also reflects the light creating high gloss specular effects.

El cambio de trayectoria se gobierna mediante un valor denominado índice de refracción que, en el caso del vidrio corriente, has a value of 1,52..

El índice de refracción es una medida que determina la reducción de la velocidad de la luz al propagarse por un medio homogéneo. De forma más precisa, el índice de refracción es el cambio de la fase por unidad de longitud(W)

Al modificar el índice de refracción veremos cómo se distorsionan las imágenes que se proyectan a través del cristal.

Además del IDR (Index of refraction), el material “Glass” dispone de otra variable “Roughness” que controla la suavidad de la superficie. A low value corresponds to a polished surface, while a high value (1) represents a rough or frosted.
