The Atocha or midday station, located in Madrid, is the largest rail Spain.
It is the first railway station in Spain on domestic, and the second on international routes, only surpassed by Barcelona-Sants.
It is not a single station, but as a result of the comprehensive reform to which it was subjected between 1985 and 1992 is divided into three: Madrid-Puerta de Atocha, Madrid-Atocha Cercanías line and metro station 1 from Atocha Renfe. These last two elements are in turn integrated into a transport interchange that connects with other urban and interurban bus lines.(W)
